Carillon Neighbors,

I have left some valuable templates/information in your mailbox in light of recent events in Legacy Park and our own neighborhood. For those of you not in Carillon, you can find the documents on the Links page of this site, under "Materials and Publications".

The first is a security inspection checklist that you and your family can use to ensure your house is properly secured. This list may help you find areas of you house that need additional attention to make your home as safe as possible. Please take the time to complete this assessment.

Second is a property record to gather information about valuables in your house in case of an unexpected loss were to happen (fire, burglary, etc). By recording you serial numbers, police can use the information to recover stolen material from national pawnshop database and consists of a proof of ownership. Fill out these sheet and store then in a safe location or safety deposit box.

Finally, I included a crime/suspicious person information sheet you can use to capture details of something that might happen. It is very important to capture as much detailed information as soon as possible so no fine details are miss communicated to responding police.

I recently completed Kennesaw’s Citizen’s Police Academy hosted by the KPD and Officer Scott Luther.

I highly recommend this free class if you want to become more informed about Kennesaw’s police department and how the local justice system works. I also received the information packets I put in your mailboxes during the class, so there are many things you can take and apply at home. The folks in the police department do a great job keep our community at one of the lowest crime rates in the nation.

Please make an effort to wave to them as the patrol our streets and tell them thank you! The officers are motivated and appreciate the support.
